Leach (Work-in-progress)

Cool walking with your headphones in.
Writing your dating app profile.
Planning your karaoke song in the shower.
Creating the moment everyone will see who you truly are.

We’ve all done it, right? Pretended to ourselves that we could be someone else. Hoped that we might keep up the act just long enough for everyone else to buy into it. Maybe then it’ll become true - and we’ll actually change. Shake off the things that came before. Become someone new. Someone better.

But what happens if you do become that new version of yourself? Where does the old one go? And who are you when you’re alone?

Leach is a solo project inspired by my love of Cary Grant and my obsession with reinvention. It’s a mix of spoken word, film history, and karaoke which I hope will touch on exactly what it means to become yourself.

I don’t know what it is yet, but it’s going to be fun.
